Couple Portraits in Munich

A couple shoot in Munich — studio or on location

A portrait of two is not a different craft from a portrait of one — it simply has an additional subject: the connection between you. That's what a couple portrait in Munich is about. Not posing, not backdrop, but two people and their bond — photographed with calm, lit with precision, without cliché.

Most couples arrive with the same sentence: one of us doesn't like being photographed. That's normal, and it's not a problem. We start slowly, with a conversation and a few frames that don't ask anything of anyone yet. The good images come later — in the moment when you've both forgotten there's a camera in the room. My job is to create that moment and be ready for it.

Studio or outdoors — we decide together. In the studio, I control every parameter of the light myself: background, direction, intensity. That produces clean, timeless images where nothing distracts. On location, the surroundings and daylight bring their own quality — a place that means something to you is often more powerful than any backdrop. Both can be combined within one session.

You receive twelve fully retouched images — photographs together and individual portraits of each of you. Because a good couple session delivers, as a side effect, what you'd otherwise have to book separately: a strong individual image for each person. The images are delivered in a password-protected online gallery, downloadable in full resolution, with unlimited usage rights.

If you're looking for a portrait for yourself — for LinkedIn, a website, or a job application — the Business Portrait Session is a better fit. If you'd prefer to be photographed outdoors, have a look at On-Location Portraits Munich. And if you want to take your time, the Portrait Session might be worth exploring.

Frequently asked questions

One of us doesn't like being photographed. Is that a problem?

That's more the rule than the exception — and it's not a reason not to book. We start deliberately slowly: a short conversation first, then a few frames that don't ask anything of you yet. I guide you through the session with clear, small directions, and leave space in between. In my experience, the tension lifts after ten to fifteen minutes — and from that point on, the images you'll actually want to keep begin to emerge.

Studio or outdoors — which is better for us?

The studio produces clean, timeless images: no background competing for attention, full control over the light. On location brings atmosphere and natural light — especially beautiful at a place that has meaning for you as a couple. Within one session, both can be combined; we'll work out what suits you in our initial conversation.

Do we get individual portraits too?

Yes — that's built into every session. The twelve finished images include photographs of you together and individual portraits of each of you. Many couples use those individual images professionally afterwards — for LinkedIn, a personal website, or a job application.

What should we wear?

You'll receive a short preparation guide with recommendations on colours, fabrics, and styling. The key rule for couples: coordinate with each other, but avoid matching outfits. Two looks per person is ideal — calm colours, few patterns, nothing you'd feel uncomfortable in. What you genuinely like wearing always photographs better than what you think looks photogenic.

When will we receive the images?

Typically within 5–10 working days after the shoot. You'll receive a link to a password-protected gallery where you can download the images in full resolution — available for one month. If you'd like more than twelve images, each additional one is €120.

— How I work
No standard setup. I choose light, background and location fresh for each couple.
Ideas included. I come with suggestions for composition, locations and props — you don't need to know how to pose.
Time without pressure. I deliberately plan more time than a few photos would require. Most people need a while to relax in front of the camera — and the best shots almost always come after that.
Care until the last image. I edit each selected image individually.
